HOUSTON,TX. – (March 28, 2019) – Committed to making a real difference in the community, Houston-based Premier Wireless provided Bay Area Turning Point’s (BATP) shelter with 50 free mobile devices. The donated phones are being given to BATP’s clients as a tool to communicate safely, find employment and streamline daily activities with the help of technology. These devices offer free, unlimited talk and text capabilities.
“Many times, women leave in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on their backs and their children,” Premier Wireless President Lea Bogle said. “Cell phones are a critical component in helping victims get back on their feet by helping secure employment and reclaim their life. I’m moved to be a small part of this change.”
“Bay Area Turning Point is here to help victims who are escaping dangerous circumstances in hopes of finding safe refuge. Oftentimes after leaving the home, victims find themselves without basic necessities, such as a cell phone. For safety reasons, having a cell phone to call 911 or simply having a new device that cannot be tracked by the abuser is an essential lifeline. We are grateful to Ms. Bogle and Premier Wireless for providing this life-saving assistance,” Sybil Winters-Little, BATP’s Operations Director, said.
